Glossary
Change order
A change order is a written agreement to change the scope, fee or schedule of a design project. It should name the new work, the estimate, the revised dates and the client's approval.
Why it matters
A change order keeps a new request from becoming unpaid work. It also gives the client a clear decision instead of a surprise on the invoice.
Example
The client adds a second language and two extra rounds; the studio sends a change order with the estimate and the new delivery date.
