Print size and bleed calculator
A print file starts with the trim size, the bleed and the safety margin. This tool adds the bleed to the document size and subtracts the safety margin from the trim, so the studio can set up the artboard correctly. It runs in the browser and sends nothing to TrulyFinal.
Print setup
The tool runs in your browser. It calculates the numbers; the printer's specification and the dieline remain the source of truth.
Questions
What bleed should I use?
Use the bleed the printer specifies, often 3 mm or 0.125 inch. A large book or a thick stock may need more. The tool lets you enter the printer's number.
Does the tool replace the printer's specification?
No. It calculates the numbers, but the printer's spec and the dieline are the source of truth. Confirm the bleed, trim and safety margin with the printer.
Can I use inches instead of millimetres?
Yes. Choose the unit before you enter the numbers. The result stays in the same unit.
